Houseago Properties Ltd is a student housing and property management company based at The Enterprise Centre, University of East Anglia, Norwich, NR4 7TJ. What we collect depends on how you interact with us. It generally falls into the following groups.
We use personal data to respond to enquiries, to set up and manage tenancies, to manage properties on behalf of landlords, to collect rent and protect deposits, to carry out the right to rent and referencing checks we are legally required to perform, to keep the student portal secure, and to meet our obligations to bodies such as the National Residential Landlords Association and the Deposit Protection Service.
Depending on the activity, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a tenancy or management contract, compliance with a legal obligation (such as right to rent checks), our legitimate interests in running a safe and well managed letting business, and, where relevant, your consent.

We keep personal data for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and afterwards for as long as we are required to by law, for example to meet tax, accounting, or deposit protection obligations. Enquiry details that do not lead to a tenancy are kept only for as long as reasonably needed to handle that enquiry, and are then deleted.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access, including access controls on the student portal and secure storage of tenancy documents. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to keep risk as low as reasonably possible.
